1. Wait longer between showering and self-tanning so that your pores can naturally close. You may have applied your self-tanner immediately after showering. Warm water and steam open up your pores. Wait at least 2-3 hours before doing your self-tanning routine.

2. Try lightly sweeping something cold over your skin. Cold causes the pores to contract, preventing your self-tanner from penetrating them. Try rinsing your face with cold water or using an ice cube from the freezer.
